I spend a lot of time ...Great post -- so well put. I spend a lot of time looking too. Even putting things aside for long periods of time. While sometimes I just get side-tracked for one reason or another, this time away from a painting, I think serves it well. I will always still have the painting out in my studio, so I can look at it and think even while I'm working on other things.<br /><br />I think your painting looks fantastic. Your assessment of the tree cluster was spot-on I think -- although I can empathize with your reluctance. I constantly struggle with value and am always amazed at people who nail it in the first wash. That almost never happens with me. I'm a glazer AND a "puller-outer." Ha! I think you did a magnificent job with the second coat -- it still looks fresh and effortless. Great work as always, Arena. :)Kara K.
